The Crew
Mike Hughes - camera, technical advisor, project financial conscience
When Mike has had a good nights sleep and is not obsessively worrying about his finances, he is a real joy to work with. Actually, even when Mike is a little grumpy he is a thoroughly likeable fellow with a generous spirit and a quick self-deprecating wit. Despite numerous declarations of his intention to retire, and even though he finds much of the subject matter of O World to be a little too 'out there' for his taste, Mike continues to show up with his camera and 30 years' of experience ... for no personal reward (much to his chagrin), other than to help out a friend ... and the occasional lunch. |
Fabiana Katz - associate producer, music coordinator, automotive administrator
The lovely Fabiana keeps O World in tune. When she's not managing her own career as a mezzo-soprano, vocal teacher, and choral conductor/clinician, she graciously helps with the vital but tedious job of sending/answering emails, translating interviews from her native tongue (Spanish), head-massaging luminaries, and making sure everyone is singing their line from 'O WORLD' in the key of B. Fabiana's indomitably good nature is on full display when, despite the incessant backseat driving of her companions, she continues to rearrange her own busy schedule in order to drive Mike and Randall to meetings and interviews around Vancouver ... with only the occasional threat of 'stopping and letting you guys take the bus if you don't shut up and let me drive'. |
Randall Melnyk - producer, director, editor, writer, cameraman, webmaster, web designer
Randall is the jack-of-all-trades for the O World Project ... not so much due to his prodigious film-making talent, but rather as a result of not having a budget to hire staff (much to Mike's chagrin). Master of nothing, but always willing to do what it takes to make the project go, Randall almost never criticizes the driving abilities of others... and rarely shies away from asking the penetrating questions regarding our Earthly journey as humans through the ever expansive adventure of life, love, consciousness and death. |
